Welcome to The Play Cafe Registry ("the Registry," "we," "us"), operated by The Homie Hub ("The Homie Hub"), Oshkosh, Wisconsin. By using playcafefinder.app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Registry.

1. What the Registry is

The Registry is a directory of play cafes and family events. We compile, verify, and publish information about businesses and events, and we let business owners claim and maintain their listings. We are a directory — we do not own, operate, inspect, or supervise the businesses or events listed (with the exception of any venue The Homie Hub itself operates, which is identified as such).

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your sign-in email secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.

3. The record is edited

The Registry is a curated record, not an open platform. We decide, at our sole discretion, what qualifies for inclusion, how entries are described, and whether an entry is added, edited, delisted, or marked closed. Entry numbers are assigned by us and belong to the Registry. We may correct, annotate, or remove any listing or event at any time to keep the record accurate.

4. Claiming a listing

By claiming a listing, you represent that you are an owner or authorized manager of that business. We may request verification and may approve, deny, or revoke a claim at our discretion — including if we believe a claim was made by someone without authority, or if a claimed listing is used to publish false or misleading information. Claiming is free. A claim gives you the ability to update designated fields and post events for your listing; it does not transfer ownership of the entry, its entry number, or the Registry's editorial control.

5. Your content

When you submit content to the Registry — listing details, descriptions, events, images — you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content as part of operating and promoting the Registry. You represent that you have the rights to what you upload and that it is accurate, lawful, and doesn't infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove any content at our discretion.

6. Passport, check-ins, and leaderboards

The passport is for recording real visits. You agree not to submit false check-ins or manipulate leaderboards. We may remove check-ins, seals, or leaderboard placements we reasonably believe are inauthentic, and may suspend accounts that game the system. Leaderboard prizes, when offered, are provided by participating cafes — redemption and fulfillment are between you and the cafe, and we are not a party to that exchange.

7. Accuracy — confirm before you go

We work hard to keep the record accurate, but information changes: hours shift, events cancel, businesses close. Hours may be synced from third-party sources. Event listings — including those gathered automatically from public community sources — are a starting point, not a promise. Always confirm details with the venue or organizer before making plans. We are not responsible for inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information, or for what happens when plans meet reality.

8. Your visits are your own

Visits to any listed business or event are at your own risk and are governed by that venue's rules, waivers, and policies. The Registry is not responsible for the safety, condition, conduct, or operations of any listed business or event.

9. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Registry: no scraping at scale, no attempting to access data or accounts that aren't yours, no submitting malicious content, no impersonating businesses or people, no using the Registry to harass anyone, and no interfering with the service's operation.

10. Intellectual property

The Registry's name, design, editorial content, entry-number system, and compiled database are ours. Business names and marks belong to their respective owners; their appearance in the Registry doesn't imply endorsement in either direction. You may share links to Registry pages freely — that's what they're for.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Registry is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Homie Hub and the Registry will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Registry, reliance on listed information, or your visits to listed businesses or events. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Registry any time and may request account deletion (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the effective date above. Continued use after changes means acceptance.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin.
